What We’ve Been Working On:
If you’ve got 10K+ followers (or better yet, subscribers!!!) and a closet full of pieces you’re ready to part with, we’re working on something for you. Want to earn cash from what you no longer wear? Slide into
’s DMs for the details ;)Running around Toronto Tech Week! From Shopify Ventures to Monday Girl, the city is buzzing with events and people from all over the country (and beyond). It has been amazing to see peers, colleagues, and many people I have previously only met on Zoom. It has also been transformative to hear from industry leaders like Harley Finkelstein (President of Shopify), Shelby Austin (CEO of Arteria AI), and Chamath Palihapitiya (Founder & CEO of Social Capital) on topics like AI, building in Canada, and leading with “chutzpah” (more to come on this).
With Lucas Perlman of Stand Up Ventures and Daphne McLarty of Antler Our Beta relaunch is officially underway! Each week, we're rolling out new features for testing—last week's highlights included onboarding improvements, adding items via photo, and closet net worth calculations. This week, we're diving into email scanning. As metnioned, Cache Club members get first access, but the waitlist is up next. If you haven't yet, sign up now to secure your invite!
What We’ve Learned:
The value of learning (and the significance of this post’s title): Chamath Palihapitiya, during his fireside chat with Farhan Thawar (VP of Engineering at Shopify), described himself as a "learning machine," emphasizing the critical role that continuous learning plays in success. At NEXT Canada, the importance of learning has also emerged repeatedly. Successful founders consistently prioritize learning above all else—one speaker even suggested considering "learnings per minute" as a key founder KPI. I've recently reframed my personal definition of success around learning. While I've always loved learning (a passion that drove me to pursue two graduate degrees simultaneously and then entrepreneurship), it's easy as a founder to get caught up in wins and losses. The beauty of learning, however, is that it remains constant, unbiased, and stable—available in every win and loss alike.
What We’re Reading:
Investors are channeling capital into circular fashion, seeing it as both a profitable opportunity and a waste-reducing solution: The industry currently underutilizes nearly half of its output—30–40% of clothing goes unsold each season, 10% is destroyed before sale, 40% ends up in landfill or incineration, and under 1% is recycled—resulting in over $500 billion lost annually. Access-over-ownership models, likened to music or car subscriptions, are emerging to extend garment lifecycles and drive repeat revenue, with consumer demand—especially among Gen Z—fueling that shift. Leading resale platforms like Vinted (€800 million revenue, 75 million users), Depop (acquired by Etsy for $1.6 billion), and Vestiaire Collective (unicorn status) have demonstrated that circular models can scale profitably. As legacy brands roll out take-back programs and potential policy levers (e.g., eliminating resale taxes) gain traction, investors view circularity as a commercially viable, sustainable business model.
Krissy Jones shared her Paris list and we are listening: If you don’t know
, you probably should. She’s the effortlessly cool force behind the cult-favorite Sky Ting Yoga studio in Noho. Aside from her A+ teaching skills, laid-back style and iconic blonde locks, Krissy’s passion for yoga and travel has led her to some incredible destinations around the globe (fun fact: in 2022, I did her Sky Ting retreat at the Cliffs of Moher!). Who better, then, to offer an expertly curated list of recommendations for exploring the city of love?
