What is Cache In, Cache Out?
Think of this series as a window into what people are buying and selling.
Adopting the mentality of one in, one out, Cache In, Cache Out is dedicated to rebranding the concept of BOGO into a future of BOSO – buy one, sell one.
Why? Because our wardrobes should be as dynamic as we are. Buying something new doesn’t mean we need to accumulate endlessly. Instead, we can make space—physically, financially, and mentally—by selling what no longer serves us.
Cache is built on the idea that our closets hold untapped value. Every purchase is an investment, and every sale is a way to reinvest—whether in a new piece, a new experience, or simply in keeping things light.
*Note: this will likely become a paid series in the future. For continued access, subscribe now!
So, in the spirit of balance, here’s what’s coming in and what’s going out this week…
Cache In (What Rachel is Eyeing, Buying, or Bought)
🛍️ What: Fashion Flats for Summer - the Wioletta Ballet Flats
📍 Where: Vagabond
💰 How Much: $80 USD (on sale from $120 USD)
I haven't bought anything new in a year (founder life 🥲) but I'm doing a closet refresh this summer which is exciting! Decided to have this post be the kick off to my summer style journey (thanks Devyn!) and I'm trying to use all the exciting new Fashion Tech tools to make the process easier... I'll share more about that on my Substack or Tiktok.
For Cache In/Cache Out, I decided to start with new shoes. I'm a big believer that shoes make/break a look and I'm LACKING good shoes at the moment. I was looking for some fashion-y flats in white that I can survive running around NYC in. I saw these shoes in a boutique in Williamsburg the other day totally by chance but loved that they felt like a slightly elevated spin on the mesh flat trend and had a toe cap (the mesh toe look is a hard look for me to get behind tbh). Checked them out online and they were on sale too so decided to snag them. Pray for me that these are comfy.
We're going for this vibe (minus the exposed toes):
Cache Out (What Rachel is Selling)
🛍️ What: Snake Print Skirt (from & Other Stories)
📍 Where: Poshmark, Depop, eBay (Thank you, Cache 😉)
💰 Original Price: Bought in Milan for ~50 Euros
🤑 Resale Price: $18 USD
Perhaps this is evident by the drastically different hair, but the last time I wore this skirt was pre-covid. Fundamentally, I'm not a skirt person and I've come to accept that a while ago but I always liked the pattern of this skirt and felt it had potential so I let it hang around 3 moves later. BUT this time I'm finally saying goodbye and letting it find a home where its future skirt-wearing owner can actually love it rather than hoard it like I was.
I’d love to hear what you’re cache-ing in and cache-ing out! Drop your recent buys and sells in the comments or chat. And if you're interested in being a guest editor for this series, please reach out—we’d love to feature you!
Until next time… #CacheInYourCloset 💚 ,
