I’ve always admired the energy of March Madness from a distance. The office pools, the group chats, everyone suddenly having very strong opinions. But I never knew enough about college basketball to actually participate.
So this year I decided to translate it into something I do know: closets. Here’s the concept, if you’re as lost on the basketball side as I was.
What is March Madness?
Every March, 64 college basketball teams enter a single-elimination tournament. One loss and you’re out. The whole thing takes three weeks and produces some of the most chaotic, bracket-busting moments in sports.
But the real phenomenon isn’t just the games — it’s the brackets. Millions of people fill out predictions before it starts, picking winners round by round. Office pools, family group chats, friendly rivalries. It becomes a full cultural moment.
The term “March Madness” has become shorthand for any bracket-style showdown. Which is exactly how we’re using it.

Icon: The untouchables. Women whose style has transcended trend cycles entirely and become something cultural. You don’t just admire them. You study them.
