What We’ve Been Working On:
Refining our onboarding flow and approach. We are going to start onboarding new Beta users in the very near future! Want to be one of them? DM us or join our waitlist!
Community building and content strategy! As you may have seen, we recently launched our new weekly series featuring a roundup of the latest news in fashion, tech, and resale. We also produced a fun little video where we interviewed people on the streets of NYC and asked them how many shoes they think they own.
What We’ve Learned:
SUBSTACK IS THE REDDIT FOR COOL GIRLS!!™️ We have been saying this for a year now and we vehemently stand by it, especially as we continue to engage with our subscribers and other creators. Substack has created a new pathway to discover and converse with likeminded individuals. We love chatting with our own subscribers as well as with new friends who subscribe to other newsletters. We are constantly learning from their comments, questions, recommendations, etc. We have even taken some of these relationships offline and IRL (most recently, we had the pleasure of meeting
and over cappuccinos in Soho 🫶).
cc: for her very apt take on the situation…
What We’re Reading and Watching:
📖 , founder of Sheertex, shares the honest truth about what it’s like to build a company: We admire Katherine’s vulnerable and authentic take on the realities of founder life. Katherine touches on the experience of pushing forward in the face of challenges including a lack of profitability, proving demand, driving innovation, fundraising, and advocating for a moonshot. We also love this response by Allen Lau (investor at Two Small Fish), where, in summary, he reminds us that “naysayers will always naysay. They want to make themselves look smart. They want to feel superior to you. They don’t want to admit they were wrong, so they continue to naysay. Most people don’t believe in moonshots because they can’t do what you do.”
🎥 Vestiaire Collective is featured in the latest episode of The Financial Times’ series “Re-commerce in Fashion”: This segment explores the environmental challenges facing the fashion industry and how re-commerce is driving a more sustainable future. It also marks the 15-year anniversary of Vestiaire Collective.
